bored.

Man I'm bored. Bored. Bored. The Chairwoman of the Bored.. And don't give me any of that shite about "Only the boring are bored." I'm soooo bored. Life has become like the Segrasso Sea... that mythical place out in the middle of the ocean where there is no wind and only forests of sea kelp span the horizon, creating a stale, soggy mess. Or something like that.

What does this boredom mean? What are the spiritual implications? Are there like, boring astrological influences? Because I've got one right about now. GODDAMN IT I WANT SOMETHING EXCITING TO HAPPEN TO ME!!!

Ahem.

Suggestions for getting out bored headspace:

1. Think of new cool ideas for my blog ie. 'people' I know and why they are exceptional human beings [pictures/profiles].

2. Go to yoga class tonight.

3. Masturbate [always a nice, if somewhat predictable distraction].

4. Perve at cute guys on google image search & indulge my inner 16-y-o.

5. Rent the first season of the OC [trash tv does not get better than this].

6. Work on my new reality tv show idea [still in its seminal phases: watch this space].

7. Colour hair [again].

8. Colour nails [green].

9. Eat some chocolate [same resultant effect as for masturbation].

10. Write some mediocre poetry [done it].

11. Cause some kind of trouble [mostly for myself].

12. Create some kind of paranoia in my own mind to keep me looped in my self-sabotage.

13... create new list for my blog...

Film: Look Both Ways

I don't want to write too much about this film b/c it was such a wonderful experience for me that I don't want to spoil it for others... you know how you get told too much about a film and then it doesn't stand up to your expectations?

But I reckon that this is the best Australian film I've seen since Lantana... actually probably better than Lantana. It doesn't try too hard to be 'quirky' but it is still funny; there's a great balance of humour & drama in a very human, down-to-earth way. The sheer ordinariness of this film is what makes it great. I can't wait to see it again so I can soak it up further. Great characters, good plot and great acting. And a very funny/realistic sex scene. Go see it. Stormi gives it FIVE stars: ***** (Who says the Australian film industry is dead!)

Madonna takes a fall!

Omigoddess omigosh... my no. 1 spiritual role-model has taken a fall from her horse:
''She sustained three cracked ribs, a broken collar bone and a broken hand but will be released from hospital later this evening,'' spokeswoman Barbara Charone said of the accident at Madonna's Ashcombe House estate.
...for the full story click here.. Poor Madsy! Remember this is what happens when you don't go with yr regular horse!! That'll learn ya!

Book: Dance Dance Dance - Murakami

Currently reading what I believe will be my first Murakami. Was introduced to me by MWP and is v. interesting writer. Love the way he plays with paralell dimensions and alternate realities... Has there ever been a character like the Sheep Man? I doubt it. Look forward to reading more of his stuff.

Bored (not really)

Fuck me I'm bored lately... But I did go out last night [as part of my new self-improvement 'get out of the house & get a social life' campaign] and quaffed some high quality red wine at a bar in Nth Fitzroy with me good mate Kimmy AKA the Kelfinator.

[She is the one who is currently encouraging me to buy a new mobile because the one I have is 4 years old and I'm getting to the point where I'm embarrassed to bring it out infront of people. Its is a mobile that screams: I have low self-esteem. So when I run out of credit I'm getting a new whizz-bang mobile that does everything - its even got a movie editing program, I will not know myself! Then my life WILL BE PERFECT, I'm sure of it.]

Anyway, back to last night... after quaffing reds at this bar in nth fitzroy, [whose name is lost in the red wine mists of time] we went for a stroll in the dark cold night... and came upon a rockin' little establishment called the Glitch bar. We stood outside peering in the fogged-up windows & saw a bunch of punks rocking out to Madonna. At that point a guy with a mischievious smile leans out of the door and beckons us inside... the devil inviting us into Hades... We protested: "No, but we are scared!", he reassured us: "No, don't be, we won't harm you."

What followed was a fun freaky time. We found the room where all the lost or run away couches in Melbourne end up. And then met some fun people. I sat down next to a guy who has self-published a book and just got a distributor, yay, good for him, I felt excited & happy for him. Then we danced to more 80's hits surrounded by gorgeous young gay punky-types. Then the Kelfinator saw some people having sex in the toilets so we took that as a cue to leave before we got too drunk and lost our dignity (never!).

10th Planet Found...

They've discovered a new planet, Xena in the Solar System, its further out than Pluto...

"This time-lapse image, provided by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, of a newfound planet in our solar system, called 2003 UB313, was taken on Oct. 21, 2003, using the Samuel Oschin Telescope at the Palomar Observatory near San Diego, Calif. The planet, circled, is seen moving across a field of stars. The three images were taken about 90 minutes apart. Scientists did not discover the planet until Jan. 8."

Super cool. I wonder how this affects astrology??

Image Search

Sometimes when I want to waste some time while waiting for the apocalypse, I put my name in Google Image search & find some things that make me laugh. Here's some of them:
Published at last!
Also, my cafe...
Shares in my company anyone...
And then there's my own personal dance music event...
oh boy, I think (a) I have identity issues, or (b) I need a social life, or (c) some cheap mexican crack...
